Hi, I am Ümit.

I am a doctoral candidate in learning sciences who loves thinking about how people think about things that are complex and counterintuitive. My research develops computational and qualitative methods for studying how people reason about complex systems — and translates those insights into programming environments, beginner-friendly resources, computational models, and curricular activities that help students and teachers think with complexity, not just about it.
